Progressive Leasing is hiring a Manager, Financial Reporting in Draper, Utah. Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, you will be part of the Finance team, and will work cross functionally with other leaders at Progressive as well as external data reporting agencies.

Progressive Leasing is currently a subsidiary of Aaron’s, Inc., a publicly traded company. By the end of 2020, Progressive Leasing will spin off the Aaron’s business, becoming a stand-alone public company traded on the NYSE. Your responsibility will be to work in tandem with our internal Finance team in order to communicate with outside finance data reporting agencies.

THE DETAILS

In this position you will help lead the implementation of new accounting standards as it relates to how our financial data is reported on externally. You will be responsible for aiding in the oversight and consolidation of external reporting of the Company’s financial data in accordance with external (SEC) reporting requirements. Your expertise in being a leader, as well as FCC reporting will prove successful as you work to identify areas for continuous process improvements and oversee the development and implementation of external reporting solutions, while managing a small team of financial reporting analysts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage filing process in Workiva for all SEC reporting (8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, 11-K, Proxy, SD, Form 3, Form 4, Form 5)
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all XBRL reporting quarterly
  • Assist in preparation and review of all supporting schedules used in SEC reporting (10-Q and 10-K)
  • Coordinate with external auditors on various 10-Q and 10-K supporting schedules
  • Prepare quarterly overall analytical procedures
  • Coordinate with key internal stakeholders for the drafting of the description of business, industry overview, business strategy, and risk factors of the Form 10-K and 10-Q
  • Coordinate with the Investor Relations department to prepare the quarterly earnings releases, supporting schedules, and investor presentation decks
  • Review interim and annual disclosure checklists and supplemental spreadsheets to ensure compliance with requirements (GAAP, 10-K and SEC annual shareholders checklists)
  • Assist with the preparation of Board and executive management financial reporting presentations
  • Prepare and review sections of the Management’s Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), working closely with FP&A and operational management
  • Review quarterly debt covenant compliance calculations and related reporting
  • Prepare beneficial ownership and share-based reporting schedules for annual proxy reporting
  • Coordinate with SEC legal counsel to ensure timely, complete, and accurate reporting of the annual proxy statement
  • Review annual 401(k) plan financial statements
  • Coordinate with HR and Legal departments to timely prepare and/or review all Section 16 officer and director beneficial ownership forms (Forms 3, 4 and 5)
  • Ensure compliance with key financial reporting SOX controls
  • Participate in disclosure committee meetings
  • Ensure compliance with periodic regulatory statistical reporting requirements
  • Identify areas for continuous process improvements and oversee development and implementation of reporting solutions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-7 years of related accounting and SEC reporting experience
  • Public Accounting experience (Big 4 preferred), including experience auditing public companies
  • Master’s degree in accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Advanced Excel experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment on diverse matters requiring complex financial analysis
  • Ability to interface effectively and build and maintain strong relationships externally and internally across multiple business units
  • Superior written and oral communication skills; ability to persuasively present and communicate
  • Exceptional professionalism; comfortable working with confidential situations and C-level executives 
  • Occasional travel as needed, to support business objectives

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE

  • Knowledge of Workiva
  • Stock plan administration experience
  • Experience collaborating and coordinating in a geographically dispersed organization (US)
  • Possess exceptional intellect, with decisive analytical skills and the capacity to think out-of-the-box by bringing novel solutions to overcome barriers to success
  • Possess unquestionable personal and professional ethics
