Senior Manager - Business Intelligence

The SeniorBusiness Intelligence Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Data Services.  A manager leads a focused team of technology professionals to deliver sound technical solutions. The leaders most important clients are their team and the people they serve. They provide the tools and training to help the team succeed and grow. The Manager will collaborate with senior technology leaders, and peers from across the business to facilitate the communication between the business and their team to help set and follow through with the priority project. They assist the senior technology leaders to orchestrate the execution of the team’s project delivery and strategy. 

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain technical expertise 
  • Transfer technical knowledge to team members 
  • Adapt to changing environment 
  • Research newer or better technologies (including but not limited to Hadoop or other BIG data platforms) to make our Business Intelligence Platform better from an engineering (design and development), auditing, data quality and performance standpoint 
  • Help orchestrate solutions to proactively exposing areas of opportunity and providing strategic solutions to the “problem.” 
  • Create standards for ETL processes, storage and data exchange and make sure that the standards are enforced  
  • Set high personal standards for performance 
  • Utilize feedback received from others to develop personal leadership skills 
  • Exhibit patience and compassion when interacting with others 
  • Recognize strengths and weaknesses of each team member 
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Data Services, identify and set specific measurable goals for team member 
  • Participate in formal reviews and coach improvement 
  • Anticipate challenges and adjust schedule appropriately 
  • Collaborate with Sr. Director of Data Services to establish best practices and common set of tools 
  • Scrum master for Business Intelligence team 
  • Manage day-to-day team project delivery 
  • Track performance and execution to goals 
  • Establish clear expectations with the business and effectively communicates when situations change 
  • Make sure on-call escalation procedures are documented and followed 

Minimum Experience & Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of Leadership/Management experience in a Technology setting
  • Prior experience with Data Warehousing (Kimball and other methodologies) and Performance concepts 
  • 5+ years working with a OLAP database (SQL Server preferred) 
  • 5+ years working with SSIS, SSAS and SSRS or similar tools 
  • 5+ years working with various Business Intelligence tools 
  • 5+ years in evaluating, researching and implementing various database structures, algorithms, best practices and auditing mechanisms. 
  • Solid experience with change control and agile methodologies 
  • A passion for efficiency, stability and creativity 
  • Strong Performance Tuning experience
