Progressive Leasing is looking for a Staff Accountant to add to our team. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to maintain a positive attitude, communicate well, and have fun. This will be a hybrid position, after full time in-office training, it will require in-office work approximately twice per week. YOU ARE: Responsible to assist our accounting team. As a successful candidate for this role, you will record journal entries for various tax accruals, perform reconciliations, have a strong attention to detail and a working knowledge of accounting policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing other financial activities within our organization.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Review general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Reconcile cash transactions daily and create journal entries to correct variances
- Assist with the monthly and quarterly close process
- Review, research, and process chargebacks on customer accounts
- Research issues with customer accounts, identify cause, and propose solutions to correct
- Assist with audit fieldwork for financial statement audits
- Adhere to SOX controls and compliance
- Provide support and coverage for other positions, and other duties as assigned
YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One or more years of cash reconciliation experience
- Intermediate Excel skills (experience using advanced functions, PivotTables, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or other mid-tier ERP preferred
- Ability to work well with others and independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to independently identify issues, conduct research, and propose solutions
- Great attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills
