Progressive Leasing is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Remote). The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and experience necessary to help us deliver elastic, efficient, fault-tolerant, and secure platforms for our industry leading SaaS products. In this role, you will work with other dedicated Systems Engineers and share responsibility for the design, implementation, and support of our expanding physical and virtual server infrastructure spanning several geographically diverse offices and data centers.

This role can be performed remotely anywhere in the US or from one of our office locations in Draper, UT or Glendale, AZ.


  • Upgrade and maintain operating systems/application software across our mixed environment of Linux and Windows servers
  • Manage both on-premise servers and cloud resources
  • Support and a hybrid Microsoft Exchange deployment
  • Work closely with our technology partners to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Perform continuous integration and delivery in the Agile context
  • Work with highly virtualized public and private cloud environments
  • Partner with senior team members to implement capacity, health, and security monitoring at every layer of the application stack
  • Utilize configuration management and orchestration tools
  • Apply basic ITIL concepts and service-oriented architectures
  • Recognize the importance of and be able to generate effective documentation
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to learn and grow through self-study
  • Establish yourself as a collaborative service provider to our intra-business customers
  • Participate in a periodic on-call rotation with other team members
  • Support a large (>1000 employee), fast-paced, always-on, enterprise technology organization


  • 3+ years of enterprise systems engineering and DevOps experience (preferably in a customer facing environment with increasing responsibility)
  • Intermediate level proficiency with VMWare vSphere & vCenter 6.x
  • Intermediate level administrator with Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016 
  • Entry level administrator with Linux CentOS/RHEL 7.x 
  • Experience with monitoring technologies like Nagios, SNMP, Splunk, Syslog, Veeam One, and Zabbix
  • Understanding of common protocols and services such as DHCP, DNS, FTP(S), HTTP(S), LDAP, SIP, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, TCP, and UDP
  • Experience using orchestration and configuration management tools similar to SaltStack, Puppet, and Chef
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or other similar CMS/SKMS
  • Exposure to common Agile CI/CD development tools such as BitBucket, Electric Cloud, Jira, and Jenkins
  • Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field or equivalent work experience


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with storage arrays, SAN or NAS 
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange
  • Experience with F5 load balancers 
  • Exposure to IP telephony technology within an enterprise environment
